The collected works of printed knowledge existed as early as civilization. According to an article appeared in the November Issue of the “History Magazine”, the first public library first emerged by the fourth century BC. Until now man’s passion to appreciate, and preserve knowledge through libraries is reflected by his innovations. For this reason, Southeastern College has taken a leap towards the present and future design and function of private school libraries, and created the SEC Learning Resource Center.

In our world today, a library which is up to date and modernized could be considered a need for students who are into this quest for learning, a library which will not only teach us about the history but will lead us to future. Thus, Southeastern College, an educational institution which aims to provide quality education believes that libraries will help its students to sustain their intellectual needs. This year, the school showed another confirmation of fulfilling its mission through the "Learning Resource Center", a place where you can gather information through books and of course the net. The Learning Resource Center uses the Dewey Decimal System which shots to organize knowledge into ten main classes which will eventually make the readers find books in the easiest way. It displays different kinds of books, from general references to fiction. The newly renovated library can accommodate more than 120 people, a cozy place where you wouldn’t even feel the pressure of academic life. Aside from the reading materials that it offers, the place is endowed with an air-conditioning system, wireless internet access, centralized sound system and complete audio and video learning resources.

This is what Southeastern College has worked for, to build a place where SECians can explore and travel the whole world through the power of written knowledge
