Learning to Live Together and in Peace

Last October 26 to November 3, the Grade School Department celebrated the United Nations’ Week. This year’s theme of the celebration is: “Learning to Live Together and in Peace.” Students from nursery up to grade six joined in the different contests and activities held. Each class represented a country that is a member country of the United Nations.

Kinder - Spain Grade 3-De Leon - Malaysia
Preparatory - Mexico Grade 4-Amorsolo - Australia
Grade 1-Locsin - Argentina Grade 4- Manansala - Canada
Grade 1-Nakpil - France Grade 5- Avellana - Japan
Grade 2-Cuenco - Brazil Grade 5-Tinio - Germany
Grade 2-Buenaventura - Indonesia Grade 6-Joaquin - Denmark
Grade 3-Brocka - Italy Grade 6-Sionil – New Zealand
Contests such as the Essay Writing and Poster Making were held on October 6; the participants of which are the pupils in the intermediate level. A Flag Making Contest was also held in which every pupil from each class made his/her flag represented by the class. The Talent Portion of the Mr. & Ms. UN ’09 was held at the AVR on October 28, while the contest proper was held on November 3. During the Culminating Program, the Singing Contest was participated in by the houses, Pahiyas, Sinulog, Dinagyang, and Masskara. Each house had a choral group which sang a song related to the theme.
